On April 9, Yehudi Wyner talked with William Anderson at the 97th St. apartment of Lazar Wyner, Yehudi's father, about music and about his oboe quartet. Cygnus thanks video producer Russell Bradley, and his company, Crow Productions. Russell did the camera work and editing. These are now preliminary edits of this material. There is much more material from these interviews. More will appear here later.
Also on April 9, after the Wyner interview, Russell & Bill went to Mario Davidovsky's apartment on 84th St. Mr. Davidovsky spoke about his interest in Ladino poetry, and about the new work that he is now beginning to compose for the Cygnus Ensemble. Mario touches on the unfortunate collapse of his barn in Vermont There is much more material from this interview that will be up soon. Cygnus has programmed Romancero, for soprano, fl, cl, vln, and vc as an example of Davidovsky's unique treatment of Spanish texts, and also as a foretaste of the new work for Cygnus now in progress.
